About us

COPEF is a registered charity established in 2012 by a group of African and Caribbean individuals, including those experiencing homelessness, with the aim of supporting ne another and creating a community that fosters connection and integration. The group began its activities in Peckham, operating from a small room. Today, COPEF operates out of a long-term leased building that serves as a hub for activities, providing a welcoming environment accessed regularly by over 250 people. The group has built a network of diverse cultural organisations and service providers, with support coming from various areas across London. COPEF has registered its activities with the Advice Quality Standard (AQS) and is awaiting approval from the Office of the Immigration Services Commissioner (OISC) to provide immigration advice. Our activities, ranging from wellbeing programs to food bank services addressing the cost-of-living crisis, have significantly helped meet the needs of affected communities. The group continues to collaborate with various charities to provide essential support to everyone in need. We warmly welcome your support for our community initiatives whether through donations, volunteering, or any other form of assistance. Together, we can make a difference.

Our team

Trevor

Community Advisor
With over 15 years of experience in family and children's law, I have worked extensively with underrepresented communities in both public and private sectors. Holding a Bachelor of Laws degree, I’ve supported individuals in building stable futures and advocating for those without access to legal representation. At COPEF, I continue this work by supporting hard-to-reach individuals, particularly those facing language barriers, with a strong commitment to community empowerment.
