Day Care Centre Activities for Adults and the Elderly

The service specialises in supporting older adults with dementia.
Our Day Care Centre provides a supportive and enriching environment for adults and elderly individuals who require assistance to build confidence, independence, and social connection. While we do not offer personal care services, our program is carefully designed to meet the needs of individuals with learning disabilities or profound and multiple disabilities through structured, inclusive activities.Aims of the Programme:• Promote independence through daily engagement• Encourage social interaction and reduce isolation• Provide meaningful, purposeful activities tailored to individual abilities• Support mental and emotional well-being• Offer family carers regular respite

Activities Offered:

1. Life Skills Development
1. Budgeting workshops using mock shopping2. Cooking demonstrations (safe, no-heat snacks or step-by-step recipe discussions)3. Laundry folding, setting tables, and organisation games to build everyday competence
2. Creative & Expressive Arts
1. Art & craft sessions (painting, drawing, collage)2. Music appreciation and sing-along groups3. Storytelling and poetry sharing4. Drama and roleplay for confidence-building
3. Physical & Sensory Activities
1. Chair yoga and gentle stretching 2. Light movement and dance 3. Nature walks and garden exploration 4. Sensory stimulation with textured objects, aromatherapy, and sound therapy
